Lift Kit 2" or 4" or higher

lift lit has its advantage for increasing ground clearance, but higher = higher centre of gravity and increase potential of rollover specially on side slope. How high can we good and obtain resonable safety from rollover. Is 2" good enough or do we need 4" or evn higher. Also do we need to replcae any parts other than shocks and Springs?
What about FJ and wrangler lift kit, any advice on brand and shop who does good job without putting whole on my wallet?
